War Memorial Site Perspective
The most important aspect of this design was to facilitate and accentuate the War Memorial, but not detract from its importance. The entire site is arranged on axis with an in-ground (walking surface) compass that is meant to tie into the war theme. Everything on the entire site is arranged to to a direction on the compass making it interactive and great for wayfinding. This memorial site is meant to be used for the Christmas ceremony that brings 200+ people to the site, provide space for those visiting the memorial, be used for family picnics, and for those utilizing the adjacent baseball field or basketball courts as a resting spot.
